Meet our Staff: Allison & Ethan

This summer we have a new position, that in my personal opinion, has the best name. The “ADVENTURE DIRECTOR” position ia a revamp of a few positions we have had in the past. The job position currently is responsible for: Creekstomping, Nature Fun, Archery, and High and Low Ropes. This summer has proved that its takes two people to fully manage the 4 activities on a daily basis. Allison is a returning summer staff member from Murray seeking a degree in Outdoor Recreation. Allison has an amazing heart for children of all ages. She has a passion for campers, pouring out love, and God’s creation. Ethan is new to our Lakeshore family. Ethan has found his way here through various other people on staff. He brings great skill, knowledge, and experience to the ropes course. He is a hard worker determined to make every effort to ensure that all of our campers have an amazing experience while in nature. This team I am proud to say is our 1st ever Adventure Director team.

Please continue to be in prayer for Allison and Ethan as the summer runs on. The heat and humidity with all our outdoor positions is testing our physical skill and stamina. With any busy schedule stress and creep up on us, so please keep all our staff in mind and we run this race.

I started coming to camp the earliest that you could (mommy and me weekend), and continued to go every summer until I was 18 as a camper. I also volunteered at camp 3 different summers. I have been on staff the past two summers as an RC.
A moment you encountered God or where you see God at camp:
I see God a lot at camp in nature, and just the peacefulness of being in nature. I also see God in all the different people who come through camp, whether it be counselors, volunteers or campers. I see God a lot in their joyfulness, and their willingness to fully and completely worship our God!
What does this ministry mean to you?
For me, this ministry allows me to grow in Christ along side those I am working with, as well as the campers who come through. This ministry is also something that has helped me to learn to love unconditionally, not just while I am at camp, but also back home. I believe this ministry gives us all a chance to see God in the everyday while we are here. That is important to me, because that is often times hard to do while not at camp.

Worships, kids getting out of their shell and having a blast all week
What are you looking forward to the most?
Getting kids up the ropes course!
Why did you apply to be on staff?
To allow kids to have the opportunity to experience summer camp and be loved all week.
What does this ministry mean to you?
It is a way to see love and feel love and to love others.
What is something you want others who don’t know Summer Camp as well to know?
It is something that everyone needs in their life!
